Do you have any special training: No special training , I just love the art, culture and lifestyle that tattooing has allowed me to have these past couple of years ,
Tell us about the style of your work: I don't really have a style I just try to do a nice clean custom piece everytime I hit the skin .. I enjoy color and black and gray tattoos .. their both fun to do .. I still have a lot to learn ..
Conventions usually worked: I usually try and make it to san francisco's cow palace , pomona tattoo convention , inking in the valley in modesto , Tucson tattoo convention , I'd like to travle for more conventions and hit florida, texas, Seattle, and a lot more so follow me on instagram and facebook , mando_at_inkfatuation and mando at inkfatuation for fb.
Where did you apprentice?: Regretably I did not get an apprenticship,
What tattoo artist do you most admire: Their are too many to list that have truly inspired me , a few friends that I've meet along the way like my boss and friend, Manuel Valenzuela, Gilbert Salas "gilz", Miguel Camarillo, the inkfatuation tattoo crew both in port huineme and bakersfield , other artist like Mr Mark Mahoney, Freddy Negrete, Carl Grace , Jack Rudy , and a lot of the old school vatos in the industry
Before someone gets a tattoo what advice do you give them?: Check out the artists portfolio and make sure you know what you want .
How did you get into tattooing: As far back as I can remember , I always wanted to be an artist , even tho my parents didn't want me to , I finally decided this is what I wanted to do , back in 2005 me ex wife and I opened a tattoo studio in bakersfield , Ca after she was done with her apprenticeship , amd I decided to jump into the game after we were divorsed. So I guess luck and a weird turn in my life got me here.
What inspires you to be an artist: Life inspires me . Everything I look at is a piece of art , the colors nature had created , the shapes, shadows, cultures from around the globe ..
What kind of tattoos do you look forward to doing: What ever comes my way
Is there a tattoo that you haven't done yet that you are dying to do: Their is , quite a few actually , I'm putting together a few designs and lining up my clients for them already , shoot me some ideas.. lol
