How did you get into tattooing: While in Art School, I applied for a traveling grant for graduates, was awarded a grant, and decided to travel to Japan for two months. There, I became really inspired by Japanese tattoos and Japanese tattoo imagery. From there I decided to contact tattoo artists back home around Louisville, KY [where I'm from] in search of an apprenticeship. Luckily, Mr. Scot Winskye and his wife Taren, took me in and taught me all about tattooing, tattoo design, as well as the business side of tattooing. I finished my apprenticeship in 2012 and ended up moving out to Boulder, CO. I decided I wanted to try my hand at creating a painting career. However, I continue to stay extremely inspired by tattoo imagery.
