Artists: Jennifer Lee Friesen
What year did you start tattooing: Around 2007
Tell us about the style of your work: The style of my work falls between the lines of illustrative and neo-traditional generally. But I don’t confine myself to those restrictions. I enjoy working in realism and Japanese styles as well. I find I’m the happiest working with anything wildlife/nature related and pop culture themed pieces.
Conventions usually worked: I currently work Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba conventions.
What tattoo artist do you most admire: I have too many to name! There are so many wonderful artists in so many different styles. I’m in awe of the boundaries that get pushed every day by artists and I look forward to continuing to strive to get better as I continue to work in this trade.
What inspires you to be an artist: I’m inspired by the idea of evolving and growing. It’s a great feeling to see yourself grow and the people around you grow, even if it’s only in the smallest way. When you see that growth you just can’t wait to reach the next point.
