FRESHLY INKED: What year did you start tattooing?
2001: A Space Odyssey.
How did you get into tattooing?
My dear friend Tas (from Into You London) taught me the basics one night at home, and I tattooed my leg—and right after, his neck. I owe him everything.
Where did you apprentice?
I’m still an apprentice. Mike the Athens is my master.
Do you have any special training?
Traveling to the sources to experience the real thing … India, Thailand.
What conventions have you worked at?
London, Milan, Stockholm, San Francisco, New York, Rome, many more.
How would you describe your style?
What inspires you as an artist?
Dalí, Blackmore, Kubrick.
What other media do you work in?
I also work in acrylics and gouache.
What tattoo artists do you admire most?
Filip Leu, Xed, Grime, Horiyoshi III…
What kind of tattoos do you look forward to doing?
I look forward to doing tattoos with weird subjects and objects mixed together in a surrealistic way of mine.
Is there anyone that you would like to tattoo?
No, especially superstars—they are always troublemakers.
Before someone gets a tattoo what advice do you give them?
I always tell them to enjoy and have fun.
Is there a tattoo that you haven’t done yet that you are dying to do?
Almost every design that I’ve thought about, I eventually end up tattooing it. I’m so fortunate to have amazing customers that give me a lot of artistic freedom.
