Artists: Martin hatton
What year did you start tattooing: 2010
Tell us about the style of your work: I enjoy tattooing black and grey realism but have recently started to get more interested in cartoon style tattoos
Where did you apprentice?: Asylum tattoo
What tattoo artist do you most admire: I have always loved the work of bob tyrrell but my favorite artist right now has to be John Anderton as he seams to be able to nail every style of tattooing flawlessly
How did you get into tattooing: I was a late starter to drawing and really didn't have any interest in it until I was around 24, I forget why now but out of boredom I decided to try my hand at pencil portraits and found it pretty easy for me so I continued until I realized that although parents are willing to spend hundreds on someone to take photos of their children they all wanted sketches but didn't think it was worth more than $20. That led me to tattooing where I found I could actually make a living doing what I enjoyed.
What inspires you to be an artist: Inspiration is completely lost on me. I don't have much of an imagination which I guess is why I seam to prefer black and grey realism. The reference is always there and doesn't require much thinking on my behalf haha.
