Artists: Niloy Das
What year did you start tattooing: I started in the year 2010, initially at my place then came up with my own studio.
Do you have any special training: No, I haven't got any special training, learnt all by myself by the trial and error method.
Tell us about the style of your work: I do not focus in a particular style. I do whatever makes me happy and appealing to my eyes but to be very honest realism provokes me more..
Conventions usually worked: I started attending conventions from the year 2012 and the conventions I have been to are Nepal international tattoo convention, Nepal inked tattoo convention, Harley Davidson Ink it convention, India. There are few more international conventions in the list this year.
Where did you apprentice?: I never did apprenticeship anywhere.
What tattoo artist do you most admire: The most admired tattoo artists to me are Dmitriy Samohin, Bullet BG, Boris, Den Yakovlev, Domantas Parvainis, Dmitry Vision and many more..
Before someone gets a tattoo what advice do you give them?: The advice is not to do any drugs or alcohol before getting the tattoo, to trust the artist and be patient as the art is forever and too much of panic can ruin it.
How did you get into tattooing: I am a musician and I started it to support my band financially. Initially i came up with building my own machine by using utencils from the kitchen and a motor frm a toy car then came across a proper tattoo kit around 7months from my journey. But an year ago I was in a situation that l had to choose one among both the passions and since I was into drawing from my childhood days I chose tattooing as a full time profession and passion and it was for good.
What inspires you to be an artist: Good art by other artists, nature, and the clients idea about his/her piece..
What kind of tattoos do you look forward to doing: I like all form of tattoos but i have a soft corner for realism and hyper realism. Its really very difficult to find a quality skin in India that a realistic work demands. So when ever I get a chance to do a realistic piece I just can not resist myself.
Is there a tattoo that you haven't done yet that you are dying to do: I want to do a whole body suit. Apart from that my whim grows every day whenever I see something that can be tattooed awesomely.
