Before someone gets a tattoo what advice do you give them?: Sit down, shut up, and hold on! Hahah! Seriously, make sure my style reflects that of what you are wanting. It's very distinct. Do not ask me to do anything realistic or heavily detailed. It's not my cup of tea.
How did you get into tattooing: I knew I wanted to be covered in tattoos after seeing all my idols in Thrasher magazine sporting tattoos especially the Alva crew. I rushed up to the tattoo shop as soon as I turned 18 and got me a $50 skateboard logo on my arm and thought I was cool asf. At some point in my ignorant and rebellious 20's I ended up in a Federal Prison where I use to tattoo gangbangers and convicts. I started out drawing portraits and traditional tattoo designs on envelopes as a hustle and one day I had a guy want me to tattoo his gang insignia on him. Prior to that I had never really done any tattooing aside from the ole needle and thread tattoos I did as a young punk rocker. He convinced me to do it so I got a "gun" off of one my Mexican homies and it was such a rush that I never stopped. A few years later I picked up a kit out of a back of a tattoo magazine and taught myself how to properly tattoo. When I felt I was decent enough, I grabbed my portfolio and drawings and walked into a tattoo shop and was hired and have been doing it ever since. It's not how I recommend starting out but it got me to where I am today.
