Artists: Thomas Ford
What year did you start tattooing: 2001-01-01
Do you have any special training: I am pretty much self taught. However I have worked along side Some amazing artists like the amazing Bobby Shaw and Ryan Rodriguez in Couer d' Alene,ID.Among many others,so I 've just watched, learned, and try to implement all the different styles,to make my own.I love the challenge of doing cover ups.
Where did you apprentice?: Austin,Tx. 2001
What tattoo artist do you most admire: Its a guy in Killeen,Tx. named Eddie Fergerger. He goes by Stax A. Million. This dude has the drive in him to get better and better and better. And he DOES it.I've never met somebody who picked up tattoing like he did and immediately began to excel. Its tattooers like him that we need in the industry.Tattooers that are about the art.Not the money that you could make.Real artists understand that if you do it for the art,the money will surely follow. So many people get into tattooing trying to make a million dollars. They stay so focused on how much money they can make, they stop trying to learn new stuff,or get better.
Before someone gets a tattoo what advice do you give them?: To think long and hard about what they want. Its on there for life.
What inspires you to be an artist: Seeing all the fresh ink that comes out in mags. These guys are putting out amazing work nowadays, and it makes me push to be that much better.
What kind of tattoos do you look forward to doing: Anything with deep meaning to the client.
