Big Box Man at The Standard

The Standard has a new guest in its plaza. The “Big Kastenmann” (“big box man”) stands at an impressive 18 feet tall and is made of aluminum and metal. Oh yeah, and he has a box torso with no head. The surrealist piece was forged by Austrian sculptor Erwin Wurm and is his first piece of public art in New York City. “Big Kastenmann” stands alongside The Standard’s outdoor restaurant and will remain there through November 2, 2012.
