Autism Awareness At Tattoo Event

WRITER Jill Marino

Tattoos and charity came together this past weekend in Nashua, NH as local parlor Mayhem Ink took part in a fundraiser for autism awareness.

Elizabeth McMeniman, whose 5-year-old son Nathan has autism, was in charge of the event and this was her second year joining forces with Mayhem Ink. The tattoo fundraiser last year brought in around $1,000.

"We try to make it fun, and not so tattoo parlor-like," she said. There were raffles being offered and also fake tattoos for children who attended the event with their parents.

McMeniman also takes part in the Walk for Autism Speaks to raise awareness on behalf of Nathan.

John Martein, owner of Mayhem Ink, said that "he would likely continue to do the benefit in the future."
