CNN recently asked it's followers, "how young is too young," in retaliation to a photo that 11-year-old Willow Smith posted with her having what seemed like, a real tongue ring. The very eccentric daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith later revealed that it was fake after she received massive public backlash mainly revolving around her young age.

Over the past  few months the age of consent for tattoos has been heavily debated by citizens and politics alike. With one incident in particular of a Florida grandfather who lost custody of his 10-year-old grandson after letting him get a "family tradition," tattoo on his leg.

CNN was able to get more in-depth with insight from child development specialists, who say that it is less about age, and more about maturity level.
