A new movie about the history of tattoos is premiering in October 2012. Tattoo Nation is a feature documentary that tells that tale of the revolutionary style of how tattoo came to be in the rough neighborhoods of East LA.
Following tattoo pioneers, Charlie Cartwright, Freddy Negrete and Jack Rudy, Tattoo Nation is a story set in the 1970's. The documentary focuses on the birth of black and grey tattoos, which is reliant on Tattoo Parlor owners, Cartwright and Rudy giving a former convict a chance. This chance ultimately leads to a change in world of tattoo's forever with his innovative technique.
