What is your job? Actress

What social causes are most important to you? LGBT rights.

What charity do you support – and how?

I volunteered for “No On 8” here in California to promote equal marriage rights under the law.

Why do you have a passion for this one in particular, is there a personal tie?

I think that it is a disgrace to have constitutional amendments to remove civil rights when all people should be equal under the law. I also believe it sets a dangerous precedent for the majority to be deciding rights for a minority.

Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved?

If people would just start a dialog about this issue, it becomes very clear that all people want to be treated equally. Some generations and religions have a knee-jerk reaction to LGBT rights that keep these discriminatory laws in place. By educating others, this cause can really be moved forward.

How would you define social responsibility?

A sense of knowing that the world is bigger than your personal needs and wants, and a decision to work to further the quality of life for all people.
