Name: Noah Levine

What is your job? Buddhist Meditation Teacher/ Author/ Therapist

What social causes are most important to you?

Ending Racism, Bringing about more Justice to the “Justice System”.

What charities do you support – and how?

I support several Buddhist organizations that do work in prisons and my wife and I support a couple of environmental groups.

Why do you have a passion for one in particular, is there a personal tie?

My whole life was changed when I learned meditation while I was incarcerated in 1988, so I have spent the last twenty years trying to help others in the same way, most recently by opening a meditation center in Los Angeles. For info see againstthestream.org

Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved?

My feeling is there are so many worthy causes and so much suffering and confusion that needs to be addressed, that it doesn’t really matter what you do as long as you are doing something.

How would you define social responsibility?

Social responsibility is living a life of non-harming, a commitment to personal action and to protecting others and this world.

Do you have any tattoos that relate to your social/charitable beliefs/work?

Almost all of my tattoos are reminders of my spiritual beliefs.

Quick list of tattoos/mention artists:
