Even in the loose world of pornography, girls with tattoos are stigmatized; an inked adult actress is thought to be kinkier and wilder than those typical blondes who have enhanced their looks in other ways. Then there’s Riley Jensen, a nice, simple, strait-laced woman who just happens to like sex enough to make a living out of doing it on camera. She also likes country and rap music, Thai and Mexican cuisine, and water sports … the wholesome kind.

Jensen has been in the adult industry for two and a half years. After working three jobs in high school, including a nanny position and a gig at Best Buy, Jensen and a friend decided to give the adult industry a shot. And it should be noted that Jensen only films with girls. “I knew I was bisexual since I was 14,” she says. “Lesbian porn is what I watch, and I make enough to not do boy-girl and save my body from the hard-core stuff.”

At 22 years old, Jensen doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. “I have goals; I want to see how far I can go,” says the star, who wants to launch a lingerie line for petite women next year and eventually head back to school and start her own business. “People have a judgmental view of porn, thinking it’s this crazy fucking lifestyle. Don’t get me wrong, I love to have fun and party, but I keep myself levelheaded.”

Jensen’s been a Cali girl her whole life, but has done her share of sightseeing, from Paris to Alaska and Hawaii, where she fell in love with the hibiscus flowers that are now inked around her wrist. She got her first tattoo at 18 and in three years has filled up a sleeve, her rib, neck, and knuckles, which say “Love Ink.” A back piece is next: “I’m trying to figure it out, because I want it to be as beautiful and colorful as my sleeve.”

Although her choice of occupation is rakish, Jensen tries to keep everything else around her conventional. “In this industry, most of the girls only hang out with those in business. I have a diverse circle of friends. Some are normal civilians, some are religious, and most of them don’t even do porn.”

Her body ink is a map to the important people in her life, mostly done by David Tower and Terry Minatre. Her largest tattoo, a lighthouse inside her arm, represents her mom, who’s an avid collector of lighthouse figurines and was diagnosed with cancer three years ago. A lipstick tube has her sister’s name, and a few hummingbirds around her body are dedicated to her best friends. “I didn’t have a relationship with my parents for a while. They weren’t happy with what I was doing, but they’re there for me now,” she says. In fact, her divorced parents are the inspiration for her favorite tattoo, which says “True Love Never Dies” across the side of her body. Jensen’s first tattoo was “La Bella Vita” on her foot, and it’s a motto she never forgets: “As fucked up as it is, mine is a beautiful life.” —Nadia Kadri
