G-Shock’s 30th Anniversary Party!
Inked Magazine was delighted to be invited to G-Shock’s super exclusive 30th anniversary party! Hosted last thursday at the Manhattan Center. Before the big celeb filled bashed, G-Shock held an incredibly cool press conference, highlighting who they are as a brand and what they hope to achieve in the future.
Announcing the release of three new and awesome watches, you guys are in for a real treat. The first watch they announced and demo’d, The Blutetooth (GB-6900) is the 1st watch to ever combine bluetooth and shock resistance. Containing a massive battery life of 2 years, the bluetooth adjusts time automatically and lets your receive email alerts that you can see, hear and feel. Pretty snazzy right?
The next watch was the Triple G (GW-4000), which went through some serious training. While demonstrating on stage, it was shot through cannons, at walls in capsules, everything. The watch is self charging, solar powered and self adjusting using atomic waves. It’s amazing the things that G-Shock are using in their watches.
The last watch they introduced was the Smart Access (GW-A 1000), which is their flagship watch. Available next month, you can easily just put in the time zone code into the watch and it automatically changes and also features atomic time keeping, shock resistant, 200 m water resistant, solar power an a bunch of other cool features.
They also show new versions and upgrades to other watches in their collections.
After the press conference was the hoppin’ part with performances by Slaughterhouse, Dj Drama and none other than the one and only Slim Shady, Eminem! Who is slated to come out with his own G-Shock some time next year. They definitely kept the party LIVE as there was tons of free alcohol, and free ogling at hot celebs like Bryan Greenberg from How to Make it in America, rap guru Busta Rhymes, rapper and reality TV stars Ice-T and Coco, Jim Sturgess, Ronnie and Sammi from Jersey Shore amongst tons of others. G-Shock creater Kikuo Ibe and founder Shigenori Itoh were there with G-Shock athletes Nigel Sylvester, Stevie Williams, Pedro Barros and more.
It truly was an awesome party and we can’t wait for the next one. To learn more about the watches, check their website. Check out the pictures below!
