Pray for Death!
On September 30th, 1999 Hiroshi Ouchi was just 35-years-old. Ouchi and two co-workers were depositing Uranyl Nitrate containing 16 kilograms worth of uranium ions into a precipitation tank when an accident occurred exposing Ouchi to 20,000 times the maximum tolerable amount of neutron radiation. The result was disastrous for his body as strong radiation comprising Neutron beams ripped through his body and shredded his DNA to bits. The heartless and selfish medical team working on Ouchi kept the poor man alive for 83 days. The list of horrific things that happened to his body are mind numbing. His last words were, “Mommy, please.”
After suffering patiently for a week, Ouchi suddenly cracked. “I can’t take it anymore. … I am not guinea pig”. His words shocked the physicians and nurses in charge of his treatment. Was this the time to shift the focus from cure to palliative care? Even if a case could be made for persevering a bit longer, what purpose could possibly have been served by resuscitating him on the 59th day, after his heart stopped three times for a total of 49 minutes? This was a man whose chromosomes had been destroyed. “None of Ouchi’s chromosomes could be identified or arranged in order.” Ouchi’s body was destroyed from the inside out. It was a slow, painful and presumably unpreventable death. Surely the doctors should have been able to recognize very early that he could not be saved
A Japanese teenager named Junko Furuta was just 17-years-old when she was kidnapped by a group of young men. For 44 days, they kept her captive in a house owned by one of the men’s parents and tortured her to the point that she died. This is just some of what she had to endure before succumbing to her injuries.
Raped her over 400 times, including having invited their friends to come to the home to humiliate and gang rape her. Starved her. Beat her several times with golf clubs, bamboo sticks and iron rods. Used as a “punching bag” by hanging her body from the ceiling. Dropped barbells onto her stomach several times (causing her to permanently lose control of her bowels and bladder.) Forced her to eat live cockroaches and drink her own urine. Forced her to masturbate in front of them. Inserted foreign objects, such as iron bars, scissors and skewers into her vagina and anus, rendering her unable to defecate and urinate properly. Shoved a still-lit light bulb into her vagina. Set fireworks into her anus, vagina, mouth and ears. Burnt her vagina and clitoris with cigarettes and lighters. Burnt her eyelids with hot wax and lighters. Tore off her left nipple with pliers. Pierced her breasts with sewing needles. On her last day of custody, she begged for them to just kill her. They challenged her to a game of Mahjong Solitaire and told her if she won they’d let her go. She did win but instead of releasing her they beat her with iron barbells and set her legs, arms, face and stomach alight after pouring lighter fluid on them. She went into shock and died the next day. Her corpse was found stuffed into a concrete filled barrel on a tract of reclaimed land in Kōtō, Tokyo
David Allen Kirwan
On 20 July 1981, at around 1:00 P.M. 24-year-old David Allen Kirwan was driving through Yellowstone’s Fountain Paint Pot thermal area with his friend Ronald Ratliff and Ratliff’s dog Moosie. They stopped to take a look at the beautiful but dangerous hot springs where the water temperature is close to 200 degrees.
Moosie bolted and jumped into the water and immediately began to yelp in pain. Kirwan was determined to save his terrified dog and despite the warnings of people around the hot springs headed for the spring shouting back, “Like hell I won’t!” and then dove head-first into the boiling spring.
Kirwan swam out to the dog and attempted to help the dog back to shore, but both disappeared under water. Kirwan resurfaced and was help ashore by Ratliff who sustained second degree burns to his own feet. As lay on the sidewalk he muttered, “That was stupid. How bad am I? That was a stupid thing I did.”
Kirwan was in very bad shape, he was blind and his skin was peeling off. He sustained third-degree burns to 100% of his body, including his head, and died the following morning at a Salt Lake City hospital. His dog also died.
