Inked Girls: Alicia Jean Edwards
Myself in a sentence: Tattooed and versatile born to rock and roll every night and party everyday.
Hometown: Winchester, Indiana
The design and themes of my tattoos: I always knew at a young age I wanted tattoos. I started planning my first one when I was only 12! Of course the parents weren't too thrilled but when I turned 18 I decided to get my sunset and palm trees. The rest of my tattoos follow the same beach theme. My pirate ship and treasure ship definitely have a Sailor Jerry feel to them. My half sleeve however is by far the best because it is a different style and focuses more on realism. Both artists and I spent hours creating art preparing for each piece. All of our hard work definitely payed off. I love each and every one of them and I cant wait to get more!
More specifics about my tattoo: My tattoos represent my love for the beach. The ocean is endless and unknown. My mermaid half sleeve represents a girl who wants to explore new challenges. The world is full of opportunity and wonder, hypothetically speaking I view the ocean as the same way. I chose this theme to describe different paths I have taken in my life and what better way to show my experiences than by intricate, detailed, underwater themed tattoos.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: My favorite tattoo is my half sleeve. Ricco Diamante and I worked for hours putting together the art and I instantly fell in love with it. I grew up on the beach and have always been a beach bum at heart. My mermaid diving into the ocean symbolizes how I live my life by jumping in head first!
My next tattoo: Whenever my artist FINALLY gets me off the seemingly endless waitlist we will be working on tying together my back piece. Im thinking a treasure map with a pirate sugar skull girl in the middle. Whatever we come up with will definitely be epic.
