Inked Girls: Jenn Sorrells
Myself in a sentence: I'm a bizarre regular chick.
Hometown: Newport News, Virginia
The design and themes of my tattoos: I'm really all over the place. Most of my ink is black and grey; I just started my first full color piece on my thigh and I'm stoked to see the outcome. My back piece is asian inspired - a dragon and tiger... my mom really didn't like that one.
More specifics about my tattoo: I have some tattoos that are perfect and some that are shitty. I have some that I love to see every day and others that make me ask myself what the hell I was thinking (like the one I got for my ex. Really, Jenn?). But at the end of the day, each one of them represents the person I once was and tells a story of how I became the person I am today. I'm just hoping I have enough room on my body to finish that story.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: I don't think I've ever given this much thought, but since I have to pick one it's probably the rose I have on my bicep. It's dedicated to my daughter, Scarlette Rose, and was inspired by Tupac's poem "The Rose that Grew from Concrete". It was done by Robert Twilley at Aces & Eights Tattoo in Augusta, Georgia.
My next tattoo: I have to finish my thigh piece up (can't wait for that!), but afterward I plan on recreating a piece my best friend had done before he passed away. It's a sick, cartoonish image of the sun and moon in a brawl, but I want to soften the characters up with feminine features - long eyelashes, full lips, and such. Still keep it badass though.
