Inked Girls: Johanna Freire
Myself in a sentence: As a joke, I would be called the growing tattoo collector that is a Disney Princess.
Occupation: Makeup Artist
Hometown: Ozone Park
The design and themes of my tattoos: I am a walking monument dedicated to the people I love and just where I've been and where I want to go.
More specifics about my tattoo: The simple all black tattoos I have received were ones that were in spur of the moment. In a way you can see how the tattoos matures just like how I did.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: I was on the first season of Ink Master and was tattooed by James Vaughn in the second to last episode. It was a portrait of my mother when she first came into the country. Unfortunately the show made it seem as if it was this butchered creation which was far from it after it healed but it was a consistent reminder from where my mother came from and where I am heading. My mother came from a 3rd grade educational background and always worked as maid. She managed to put her children in college but because life came into the picture they decided to raise a family. I am the only one out of my siblings who managed to receive two degrees in Art History which for my mother was accomplishment. The tattoo reminds me of the American Dream.
My next tattoo: I am currently working on a large piece on my thigh that is dedicated to my grandmother who passed away a few months ago.....in actuality I started this piece way before she passed away and now that shes gone I want to finish it even more. It was just placed on hold because of financial hardship.
