Inked Girls: Katie Dieterly
Myself in a sentence: Quirky, sarcastic and loyal to those loyal to me.
Occupation: Graphic artist
Hometown: Moreno Valley, CA
The design and themes of my tattoos: Mostly following the strict traditional or neo-traditional styles, the layout is generally left up to the artist. While the images, placement, and ideas are generated from me. My most recent piece is a decorated anchor with a diamond on my calf which signifies strength. I don't tend to have a whole lot of "girly" tattoos, although they are somewhat feminine even for being skulls and stuff. I have a lot of flowers and have literally hundreds of ideas for more.
More specifics about my tattoo: They are all unique and usually generated by me. I would never get a tattoo off the wall, but I would get artwork reproduced if I liked it that much. They make up a big part of my life in terms of hobbies and daily life in general. I would say that they easily could define me as a person in a lot of ways.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: My chestpiece will always be one of my favorites because it is right there on my chest. I got that when i was about 19, I am 28 now. I was inspired to create a unique piece that fit my personality- it is a skull, with a snake, and webbed wings. To me this symbolizes strength and patience. Now that I got an anchor on my calf, that one is quickly becoming my favorite. I went through some really tough times and decided to symbolize a piece that means progress, perseverance, and positivity.
My next tattoo: A memorial piece for my mom. A horseshoe, because she grew up around horses and always had horses in her life as an adult, for luck, and roses because her name was Rose. This will be a side piece.
