Inked Girls: Keira Belanger
Myself in a sentence: The foundation of Keira revolves around alternative beauty and art, I want to express how colorful I feel inside by replacing skin with ink. While I dabble in acrylics I am also mastering my crafts in tattooing, as an apprentice tattooer. I have so many dreams to accomplish, traveling and meeting some of the greatest tattoo artist and getting the best ink done from them.
Life is what you make it and mine is filled with art, centered around it.
Hometown: Sydney australia
The design and themes of my tattoos: I don't have one theme, I have a few. My sleeve on my left arm is a dark night theme, lanterns and moths, candles, all in traditional earthy colors. My other sleeve I'm working on is more anime and colorful, it's inspired by my favorite artist, the octopus on my inner bicep is a Jeff gouge inspired piece, while the lady is a Camilla D'errico design but cost inky drawn for me.
My main priority is color, I try to incorporate teal in every tattoo, so far so good.
More specifics about my tattoo: I've been tattooing for three months and have made so much progress I had to show my confidence and tattoo my calf, it's one of my favorites and I take allot of pride in my art. My tattoos are very fun to look at, cause every time I stare at them I notice some thing different.
I like designs and patterns hidden or as fillers, it's just more elegant in my opinion.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: My sternum, my only regret is I didn't get it bigger. I have a fascination with hearts, they are the motors that keep us going, just a fist size muscle powering the whole body. They are mysterious, I love the veins and arteries all uniquely placed. My rib is a skull shaped heart with lace spread from side to side by Jared.
Jared is my hugest inspiration for being a better tattooist while I'm still only months into the apprenticeship. His art drives me to be the best I can be.
My next tattoo: I have so many appointments with Jared and my mum Vanessa, tomorrow I'm finishing my half sleeve and next month I'm starting my biggest piece. My mum is still working on my other half sleeve, it only have a few hours till it's finished then we are working on some lace on my color bone.
