Inked Girls: Lesli Baker
Myself in a sentence: I am an incredibly multifaceted person, with many hats and my hands in many pots!
Occupation: Burlesque Performer, Yogi, Student
Hometown: New Orleans, La
The design and themes of my tattoos: My back piece is a combination of John Tenniels illustrations for Alice In Wonderland and wrought iron patterns from the Garden District in New Orleans. I don't think , though, that there is any one theme for my art. I have been collecting tattoos for so many years that the themes change, just as the things that i am into change! My left arm is sleeved in hearts and stars, while my right arm is sleeved in Louisiana Kudzu, a vine that grows all over everything there!
More specifics about my tattoo: I have a pair of catfish on my chest, with an earth worm that wears a holy crown. My right leg is covered in tattoos that honor those in my life who have passed on, and my right leg has pieces that honor those close to me who are still here.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: My favorite tattoo is a cover up. Originally it was a double sided axe called a "labris" the axe blade and stick are now the buttons and bowtie of a happy clown, and the tattoo reads "God hates a coward". It is on my left shoulder. I love clowns and have 4 clowns tattooed now.
My next tattoo: My second tattoo is from a book by author Kathy Acker, and is in farsi. it reads "The woman's Smell". I got it at 18.
