The design and themes of my tattoos: I like beautiful things that are feminine. I have a lot of flowers on me and now the peacock. I tend to prefer larger pieces over small individual tattoos, although I do have 2 small ones.
More specifics about my tattoo: 1- Dahlias on my right shoulder. Once is pink and the other is orange. The colors and blending are amazing. The leaves are probably my favorite part and go from greens to yellows. 2- My second tattoo I got is a quote from one of my favorite Italian films, "Remember Me My Love" or "Ricordati di me." The quote is "Art, like love, is always hungry." This quote has always stuck with me and I interpret it many different ways. I have it in Italian oh my left ribcage,. 3- My third tattoo was an addition to the quote. I had black and grey roses added all around the quote for a full rib piece. 4- My fourth tattoo was a tattoo my boyfriend and now fiance and I got at the same time. It is a Swallow with the word Love above it. It is small and on my right front hip. We shared the same needle when we got these. 5- My fifth tattoo is my fiance's initials on my right ribs under my chest. We both got each others initials to show our commitment to each other. This one was surprisingly painful. 6- My sixth tattoo and work in progress is the peacock on my right side. It goes from midway on my thigh up to the top of my ribcage. The detail work is insane! It is gorgeous and I am so looking forward to getting the color added to it. It really is such an amazing piece of artwork. This was by far the most difficult to sit through and most painful of my tattoos thus far. Totally worth it though.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: This is a tough one because they all mean something different to me! My Fiances initials are important to me because it shows my lifelong commitment to him. My new peacock tattoo is also important because to me it symbolizes renewal and developing as a person. I was hesitant to get an extremely large tattoo because of what people always say to me. I hate hearing the same nonsensical statement that I am 'too pretty' to be covered in tattoos. To me tattoos are a way to be a living canvas for amazing art work. I am an extremely artistic creative person and I think it is amazing I get to have such beautiful pieces displayed on my body. If anything I think it makes me more beautiful. It is just frustrating to hear people's comments about how they think I should look or live my life. SO the peacock is basically a big fuck you to those people, haha. I am letting go of negative people and energy and moving on to a new phase of my life, like a peacock shedding it's feathers and growing back even more beautiful ones.
My next tattoo: I am working on my side piece right now. It is a large peacock that goes from my top ribs down over my hip and about half way down my right thigh. I just got all of the outline done and will be going back in for color in the next few weeks. My artist is making it really bright and colorful so I cant wait to finish it.
