Inked Girls: Melissa Hagen
Myself in a sentence: I'm the equivalent to Hell Raiser's puzzle box.
Occupation: Pediatric Anesthesia Technician
The design and themes of my tattoos: The majority of my tattoos are black and gray, and realistic. I do have some colored traditional pieces as well. I have a lot of portraits. The majority of my tattoos are 1950s themed. However I have one leg that I call my "party leg". It's full of random things and they're all in color.
More specifics about my tattoo: I work at Boston Childrens Hospital as an anesthesia technician. People thing tattoos hinder you as far as your career goes, and I can testify that mine have not. My patients all call me the human coloring book :)
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: My favorite tattoo would have to be my leg sleeve in total. It's in the process of completion right now. It's all portraits of famous men and women from the 1940s-50s. All my tattoos are themed around that era. The way of life, the culture, and their definition of beauty is what attracts me to it. If I could live in any time period, it would have to the be the 50s!
My next tattoo: My next tattoo is going to be another portrait added to my leg. I'm not sure who out of the collection we'll be doing next. Carl Grace is my artist, so I'll be waiting for him to do guest spots up around Boston. Hopefully within the next month or two I'll have another 12 hour session with him.
