Inked Girls: Olivia Danielle
Myself in a sentence: I'm a 28 year old Hairstylist from Houston, tx that loves tattoos and anything awkward or obscure.
The design and themes of my tattoos: the common factors in most of my work are my family and my memories from my life, i have a lot of flowers, traditional roses to realistic roses, my sleeve consists of lace patterns ,flowers , a fantastic skull, and a very curious raven , 1/3 of my work are things that remind me of my dad , his signature , his portrait , angel wings , the number 13 ( his birthday was friday the 13th) the magnolias , and a horseshoe with 7 Ruby's on my finger bc my dad wore one every day.
More specifics about my tattoo: Tattoos are more then just ink, the entire experience is therapy from beginning to end and when its all done u have a wonderful trophy you get to keep forever to commemorate the experience. I love trying to push the limits of my artist and coming up with really unique ideas and designs, one of my favorites is my shoulder piece that we accented with dermal piercings :)
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: I have a portrait of my father on my left side, its a picture of him from Vietnam when he was in his 20's, its a really badass picture of him smoking a cigar in black and white and on the top of the photo he had written "bad dad" in blue marker, the picture has been around my house as long as i can remember and when i was in jr high i started carrying it around with me , put it on the front of my binder, kept it in my wallet, hung it on my fridge, i always knew i wanted to do something special with it, one day i made an appt with Tye Harris based on a recommendation of my very good friend and tattoo artist Aj, Tye absolutely captured every important detail, My father was always opposed to tattoos so it took him a year to actually ask me to see it, it may have been the only tattoo he ever liked, he passed away last february and since then i've collected a lot of other very special tattoos that remind me of him including his signature "Love Dad" from the last valentines day card he ever wrote to me and my sister.
My next tattoo: I've been working on my left sleeve for the last year so i still have some finishing up to do, i have an idea for an epic back piece that consists of a ghost ship and stormy water, so maybe once my arm is complete , and we tie up the lose ends on some other projects we started we can move on to work on that…….
