My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: My favorite tattoo would be the one of my left thigh; it did not always looked this way. When I first got the four leaf clover done it done it came out horrible, dark and was extremely painful; lets just say in 8 months it looked like a 7 year old weathered tattoo. I had been watching a newly opened tattoo shops facebook page in my area and I was impressed by the artists that were there so I stopped by one day. I was handed off to their resident cover up artist; I gave him a printed photo of my awful tattoo. After 20 mins he came out and said I can either bullshit around on this print out or I can just start drawing on your leg. So I let him start free handing on my leg and I told him I would let him have free reign in fixing the tattoo, and I just wanted at least one element incorporated into it and that was flames. Well 3 1/2 sittings and 10 hours later it came out beautiful and at the time was his first extensive free handed color piece he had done and it just wows every one. You cannot even tell that the original was ever screwed up; even the black blob of a center on the 4 leaf clover he was able to shade out. Just an amazing job. The tattoo reflects everything about me from being Irish to my love of flames and the colors being out of the ordinary for a piece like that to match my uniqueness.
My next tattoo: a memorial tattoo for my retired show horse that I had for 18 years who just passed this April. Location will probably be my shoulder and the top portion of my arm.
