Inked Girls: Sydney V Smith
Myself in a sentence: My name is Sydney V. Smith, internationally known as The Giraffe Woman, due to copper rings I wear around my neck to elongate it. I've always been anti normal and when tattooing wasn't enough to quench my rebellious thirst, I started adding rings in 2011. Since than I have appeared in a few tv shows and most recently featured in Penthouse magazine Jan2016.
Hometown: Los Angeles
The design and themes of my tattoos: The problem with my first two tattoos is that they weren't tied together . They were two separate tattoos next to each other , and the look of it was patchey. So I kept adding roses around the two tattoos and it kept looking worse and more patchy . Finally I had to hire a very professional artist to fix this blotchy mess I put on my arm, and she went in there and pieces all the pieces together by adding thorns and shading in between, until it looked like one solid piece.
More specifics about my tattoo: I used to want to go all out with full sleeves. Now I am content with the quarter sleeve and the tattoo on back of my neck.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: I guess My pink roses amongst my quarter sleeve are my favorite. I am obsessed with light pink roses because when I was a kid, I would plant them in my parent's backyard. For me , the pink roses represent my inner child and the pureness of her. My other favorite tattoo is of the word "Vain" tattooed on the back of my neck . It stands for my old band called "Abbeyvain."
My next tattoo: My next tattoo was on the back of my right shoulder. Beautiful tattoo of a Zuni Native American symbol combined with a dream catcher. This tattoo represents my great grandfather, the black sheep of my family. Although I never met him in life, his story rung a bell with me since I was super rebellious at the time myself.
