Inked Girls: Victoria Simmonds
Myself in a sentence: best way to describe myself in one sentence, i am very loveable, with a hard edge, i am like a candy coated gumdrop, hard on the outside, and soft on the inside.
Hometown: St. Catharines
The design and themes of my tattoos: I would have to say my tattoos are along the normal traditional side. There common designs. The theme i would say they are is more outdoors. All of the tie something in from flowers, to sunsets, to stars.
More specifics about my tattoo: All five of my tattoos are important. Helping me through depressing times, anxiety, reminding me there is more to life, keeping my family close. My wrist tattoo and most recent, is for my mum, our mother daughter tattoo. We've always had an up and down relationship, but its a quote from "I'll Love You Forever" by Robert Munch. It was one of my favourite books when i was little, and its beautifully done. My rib piece of a cherry blossom tree and butterflies, i have always wanted. Cherry blossoms bloom and die fast, so the way i interpret it is, that you never know when it could be your last day, make everyone the best it can be. The colours on it are beautifully done. And on my left ribs i have "Keep A Weather eye on the Horizon". I plan on putting an expansion on it, adding more detail to the back ground. it has always been the one quote to always cheer me up. Again to push me forward, since you never know what will be coming your way.
My favorite tattoo and the story behind it: My favorite tattoo i have would have to be the anchor on my thigh. To me it is one of a kind art work. I drew the piece myself, and was nervous getting it tattooed but my artist did an amazing job at nailing it exactly how i had drawn it. To me it represents alot in my life, there has been hard times and good. An anchor always resembles to stay safe and weigh you down, but with the banner around it reminding you to live, "Remember to live" it's reminding me day in and day out that i can stay safe and grounded but also have fun, live my life to the potential i know it can be. It's the tattoo i'm most proud of, especially being my own artwork.
My next tattoo: My next tattoo is a toss up between two. I want to get my dreamcatcher down my left thigh but i also want peter pan behind my ear. Both have alot of meaning, it's just a mater of trying to figure out what one. I've always wanted my dreamcatcher, again my own artwork. And peter pan for me and my cousin, both of us following our dreams.
