Kurt Fagerland on CNN

One of our Freshly Inked artists, Kurt Fagerland, was featured on CNN with some advice for summertime tattoos. Tattoo noobs may be tempted by the beautiful sunshine and beach weather, but the Atlanta-based tattoo vet warns against the notorious summer ink. Too much sun and water exposure can damage freshly inked skin, which for Fagerland, is a definite crime. The 34-year old visual artist emphasizes the appearance of the art more than the meaning. “I’m not completely against doing something that’s meaningful, but my main concern is what the tattoo looks like,” Fagerland told CNN. Besides, as Fagerland says, “Tattoos are about having fun.” Just make sure you come out with something beautiful too. Fagerland now works at Memorial Tattoo in Cabbagetown.
