Nokia’s Patent on Vibrating Tattoos

Cell phone company Nokia has recently filed a patent for vibrating magnetic tattoos, proposing “a material attachable to skin [that is] capable of detecting a magnetic field and transferring a perceivable stimulus to the skin, wherein the perceivable stimulus [e.g. a vibration] relates to the magnetic field.”

Pretty much what they are saying is that they are taking out a patent on technology used to create tattoos that can pick up phone signals and make your skin vibrate via magnetic waves from the ink.

The patent even includes temporary stick-on tattoo options as well as stating that the wearers would be able to customize sensations like ringtones.
