We are based in the United States, Land of the Free, where tattoos have a stigma but rarely do authorities brutalize us for wearing ink. Meanwhile people like Jerry Gbuobadia, who lives in Benin, Nigeria says that two cops beat him up for “having too many tattoos.” Our heart goes out to Jerry and other people who feel that they can’t express themselves through ink without the risk of being attacked by people who are supposed to protect.
