The Japanese have one of the most long-standing tattoo traditions despite tattoos not always being accepted within the culture. One subset of the culture that has thoroughly embraced tattooing is the Yakuza, the criminal underworld. Yakuza members often have their entire bodies covered in tattoos but you wouldn’t know it from first look, all of their tattoos will be covered up by their clothes. This style of tattooing has been emulated by many so here is a gallery showing some of our favorite Yakuza style tattoos.
