Climbing the pyramids above a certain level is forbidden, and the entire site is closed to the public after 5pm. Despite the world wonder being patrolled by police officers, a Danish photographer is under heat for posting himself having sex with an unnamed woman, on top of The Great Pyramid of Giza.

The photographer, Andreas Hvid, posted the footage to social media. The outrage went viral, as did the photo and video. Egypt's Ministry of Antiquities said the incident "violates public morality" and has requested the Attorney General launch an investigation. Climbing on the pyramids is forbidden, as is being at the sight of the world wonder after hours.

Andreas Hvid posted the explicit snapchat on his website and was also featured it in a video he posted on YouTube.

Now, authorities in Egypt are investigating, after the case was referred to the prosecutor general by the minister for antiquities.

Khaled el Anany said Hvid's actions were a “violation of public morality” and referred the case for investigation.

The video, which was apparently taken down, was reposted on Hvid's page.

The video shows Hvid and the woman climbing to the top of the 4,500-year-old pyramid, and looking out over Cairo, while they play.

Another clip shows the woman removing her top.

In the video's description box, Hvid said he and the woman climbed the pyramid late last month.

“In late November 2018, a friend and I climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza (a.k.a. Pyramid of Khufu, Pyramid of Cheops),” he wrote.

“Fearing to be spotted by the many guards, I did not film the several hours of sneaking around at the Giza Plateau, which lead up to the climb.”

He also posted a link to his website, which shows the explicit picture. While many viewers called Hvid a “legend,” it quickly attracted a wave of backlash from commenters, who said the action was completely disrespectful.

One wrote, “In my opinion, the nude stuff is very disrespectful and ignorant.”

Another added, “Total disgrace. Total disrespect for local culture.”

“On behalf of historians and archaeologists everywhere, I hope you both end up in jail,” another wrote.

On Hvid’s website, the photographer says he is “forever in search of beautiful locations where you cannot be.” The website also contains other examples of his “nude art.”

Hvid has not been arrested or fined, but in 2016 a German teen was arrested by Egyptian authorities for scaling one of the pyramids.

Although many people want "justice" for this "disgrace," this is our favorite kind of pyramid scheme.
