Back To Fighting Weight!
Say what you will about Jenna Jameson, but you now have to add brave to the list of adjectives. Earlier in the week Jenna, 44, revealed on her Instagram account a series of before and after photos that show a 57-pound swing in weight loss. The posted images document her weight gain with a “before” photo showing her at 187 pounds (after giving birth to daughter Batel), and another, only four months later, at “a strong 130.”…and she did it all on the keto diet.
The trouble began after Jenna, gave birth to her third child (Jenna, is also a mother to 9-year-old twin boys Jesse and Journey), daughter Batel in April 2017. Jenna said she, “…struggled with her postpartum body for months-until I tried the keto diet”. Heaping even more praise upon the trendy diet, Jenna goes on to say that in addition to her weight loss, the diet helped her feel, "…happier, smarter, and more confident. I was lethargic and struggled with the easiest of tasks like walking in the beach sand with Batel. I felt slow mentally and physically,” she wrote.
Jenna does admit that it wasn’t all smooth sailing on the diet, and for the first week things were tough, but she powered through and settled into the diet routine. "After the first week or so... the cravings subside and the body adjusts," she wrote in another Instagram post. "I get sweet cravings here and there, but I usually push past them by drinking a Fresca."
The concept of dieting and breastfeeding simultaneously has its critics, but Jenna addressed that when she told her Instagram followers that she cut out "bread, pasta, potatoes, rice, all refined sugar, no snacks like chips and crackers," and focused on eating healthy whole foods like meat, fish, and veggies-and that it hadn’t affected her ability to breast feed and her supply of breast milk at all. "So to all of you that are wanting to start a weight loss journey, look at me! It can be done! Even with a toddler!"
Now that the weight is off, Jenna is concentrating on losing the inches and toning up her once incredible body. She feels she has lost enough weight and has chosen to ignore the scale and concentrate on the gym.
Jenna went on to add that although the journey was to lose weight and look better, she has come to realize just being healthier is part of good mothering.
