Ariana Grande Follows in Mac Miller’s Footsteps, Gets Two New Tattoos
Ariana Grande’s new boyfriend is rapper Mac Miller, and it appears the pop star may be taking a page from her beau’s book when it comes to tattoos, because she recently debuted two new pieces on social media – her 12th and 13th. Both of Ariana Grande’s tattoos, a small black letter “A” on her left thumb and a zodiac “Venus” symbol on her right-hand middle finger, were done by the master of miniscule ink, Dr. Woo of the Shamrock Social Club in West Hollywood, California.
Ariana Grande revealed her two new tattoos on Snapchat and Instagram on August 26, after wrapping up rehearsals for the MTV Video Music Awards, and the fresh ink goes perfectly with the singer’s other delicate pieces, a tiny crescent moon tattoo on her neck, a “Bellissima” tribute to her grandfather on her ribcage, and a small heart outline inked on her ring finger. In the first of at least two Instagram posts featuring her finger tattoos, Grande included the caption, “a couple new finger tats today. So fine & perfectly petite, they won’t even show up in this Polaroid. Love & thanks @_dr_woo_.” The second post, she captioned simply, “A.”
It was on Snapchat that Ariana Grande revealed the inspiration behind at least one of her new finger tats, explaining in a short video clip, “I got two tattoos today. I got [the A finger tattoo] for my best friend slash for myself, since we both have the same initial.” That best friend happens to be Grande’s gal pal Alexa Luria, who lives in Florida, but has been by Grande’s side (figuratively speaking) since the girls were only 10 years old. As for her tattoo of the Venus symbol, Grande didn’t talk about the meaning behind the ink, but judging by her Snapchat caption, the tattoo means one thing and one thing only – girl power.
As for Mac Miller, born Malcolm James McCormick, he is no stranger to ink either, and while Ariana Grande already quite a few tattoos to her name before the two started dating, it’s possible the rapper’s impressive collection of ink has inspired Grande to add to her own. As a matter of fact, Miller accompanied Grande to the Shamrock Social Club on Friday, and left with his own tattoo, courtesy of the infamous Dr. Woo.
