Good Charlotte frontman and Inked Magazine favorite Benji Madden revealed that he has gotten some new ink to celebrate his marriage to Cameron Diaz. A bit over two months ago Madden and Diaz surprised all of us by getting married in a relatively hush-hush ceremony. The two had a whirlwind romance for a little less than a year, followed by a brief engagement, and capped with a private ceremony at Diaz's home. Now that they are solidly married there was only one thing left to do—Madden needed to add some ink.
Madden shared a photo of the new tattoo on his Instagram this morning with the caption "Thinking about you. #LuckyMan." Emoji hearts were also included in the caption thus proving that Diaz has completely melted the punker's heart. The heavily tattooed musician had his bride's name written in flowery script on his chest just above his Sacred Heart tattoo.
We still haven't gotten word on which artist added the romantic ink to Madden's already extensive collection but given his taste in tattoos, and the look of this one, you can bet that it was a well known artist. In an interview with us in 2014 Madden told us about the extensive work he has gotten in the past.
"I did my back piece with Grant Cobb in three sessions—12, 12, and 10 hours—and I sat for 12 hours on my chest and stomach too, Grant is the only guy who will tattoo me for that long!" Madden says. "I like to get my tattoos over and done with. As the years go on I get tattooed less and less, so when I do, I make it count!"
The new piece was definitely not as intricate as that back piece, but it still well done. Hopefully we'll find out the artist who did the work sometime soon. And of course, we want to know what Diaz thinks about the romantic gesture.
