Are You Ready For the Return of Halloween?
While the Halloween season of 2017 was largely ruled by the film adaptation of Stephen King’s It, it is expected that the biggest blockbuster of the 2018 season will be Halloween—which is the direct sequel to the 1978 film of the same name.
Back in 1978, John Carpenter’s Halloween set a precedent for horror movies of the late 70s and 80s, tapping into the nation’s fears of serial killers and mass murders. The film centers on the story of Michael Myers, who was institutionalized as a child after murdering his older sister Judith. 15 years later, Myers escapes and begins killing the citizens of a fictional Midwestern town.
And while the 2018 sequel may be the eleventh film in the Halloween series, director David Gordon Green has decided to ignore the previous entries and take over where the 1978 film left off. The primary protagonist of the film, teenage babysitter Laurie Strode played by Jamie Lee Curtis, is set to star in the 2018 film alongside Nick Castle, Halloween’s original Michael Myers.
In honor of this year’s film, which is expected to break box office records, let’s take a look at 15 of our favorite Michael Myers tattoos in the gallery below.
