Temporary body art has been all the rage lately. People are sporting everything from temporary tattoos to glitter paint and even fake freckles and beauty marks. That being said, Verity Cumming has beaten them all with her stunning, dried flower body art.

A graduate of the London College of Fashion, Cumming freelances as a fashion makeup artist whose work has been shown in editorials and on runways in Paris, London and Milan. Her work with dried flowers originated from a 2014 editorial shoot with Oh Comely, in which the models donned the floral art on their bodies.

Originally inspired by a 60th birthday present she wanted to make for her mother, she decided to go further with the idea. “After that I got really into drying and creating images with flowers and thought it would work well translated into makeup,” Cumming told Oh Comely.

All of the flowers used were freshly picked by Cumming, considering season and color as she chose them. The flowers were then dried by placing them between two double layers of paper towels and microwaving them for between 30 and 40 seconds, before being stored in a closed book until it was time to use them. Finally, she applied them to the skin using tweezers and a “Vaseline-type lip balm.”

The look can be recreated using any type of flower, though Cumming recommends applying them with eyelash glue if you plan on wearing them out so they stay longer! Check out the beautiful end results in the gallery below!
