Giraffe Woman Removes Neck Rings After 5 Years

Check Out What Happened to Her Neck After Removing the Rings!

Many of the body modifications we see popping up today may seem extreme to us, however, in many cultures the practices are part of time honored tradition. For example, scarification is only beginning to gain traction in the United States, but it has been practiced throughout Africa for hundreds of years. Another example can be found in South East Asia through the Kayan people and is referred to as Padaung, or neck stretching. And while Padaung is for the most part, an isolated practice among Kayan women, a Los Angeles native adopted the tradition for a staggering 5 years. Take a look at the Giraffe woman in the gallery below and stay tuned until the end to see what she looks like WITHOUT her signature brass rings.
