Recently tattoo artist and Ink Master season 2 cast member Clint Cummings announced that he’s been diagnosed with cancer.
In a video posted to his Instagram Cummings said, “So, before I get started, I want you all to know that this is not a joke. This is not some stupid ploy or stunt in any way to get attention or recognition. Unfortunately, it’s as real as it can get.
“I am not ashamed by this,” Cummings continued. “I want to help others who might be.”
The Texan artist then goes on to make a strong and valid point about cancer, it affects every one of us. “You see, cancer isn’t just something [only] old people deal with,” Cummings says. “It does not discriminate or play favorites. It strikes with very little warning.”
On Tuesday Cummings announced that his colorectal cancer has entered Stage 4 and that he will be going into surgery on Thursday. Cummings has been updating about his condition often on his social media and he appears ready to fight this disease. In particular, his spirits seemed to be buoyed by his beloved Denver Broncos victory on Sunday.
An art show benefit is currently being put together in Clint’s honor with proceeds going not only to help pay for Cummings’ medical bills but also to charity in order to help others fighting the disease.
