The Many Faces of a Tattoo Convention

Here at Inked we try to give our followers a behind-the-scenes look at our little corner of the tattoo industry. From InkedShop photo shoots and convention coverage on Snapchat to our favorite tattoos and products on Instagram we’ve opened our doors and welcomed you all in.

Our new blog series titled “Convention Ink” will showcase tattoos from all the conventions we attend throughout the year. The first post featured the “No Limits” Tattoo Expo, which took place in Queens, NY. As those of you who are familiar with Freshly Inked already know we have photographers documenting conventions across the globe, but this time we decided to do things a little bit differently. At the “No Limits” Tattoo Expo held at the Resorts World Casino we employed photographer Mark Mann to shoot portraits of the folks in attendance.

In this series of black and white photos Mann shows us the artists behind the artwork we admire most. Audie Fulfer Jr. of High Class Tattoo in Fresno California, Mikee Cue of Mint Gun Club in Scotland, Oleg Sheplelenko, Joey Tattoo, and black and grey artists Carl Grace and Ryan Mullins are just some of the artists you will find in the gallery below. There are also a few familiar faces in the crowd, Inked Girls Magazine models Kitty Crystal and Jade Clapp were also photographed at the convention. Not an artist or a model? No problem! Mann also photographed tattoo collectors and inked up couples attending the event. Check out the gallery below and keep an eye out for Inked Magazine at the next convention in your city.
