Pink has a long history of setting a good example for women and young girls by standing up for herself. That doesn’t mean that she needs to be challenged to do it over something trivial, like when she responded yesterday via twitter to critics questioning her recent weight gain. The negative feedback was spurred by images of Pink dressed in a black gown while attending a cancer benefit that honored her friend Dr. Maggie DiNome.
“She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer,” Pink wrote in a tweet. “But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you.”
Pink made it perfectly clear that she does not struggle with body image issues—nor should she—when she posed for this anti-fur PETA campaign wearing nothing but her tattoos.
So worry no more. While she thanked the masses for their concern, Pink assured her friends and fans on Twitter, “I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful.” Apparently we’re not the only ones who agree. Her husband and date for the evening, Carey Hart, sees no problem either.
If you don’t agree, then you obviously didn’t look at that PETA ad.
