Rebels all around the country will be paying tribute to one of the most iconic men in America, the father of old school tattoos, Norman “Sailor Jerry” Collins, on Thursday June 12. It’s been 40 years since he set up his first tattoo shop in Honolulu and his original designs are still around today, see our gallery here. Sailor Jerry artwork has become an iconic symbol in American culture and is one of the most recognized tattoo styles in the world. To pay homage to the badass seaman S.J. day is kicking off Thursday. The shindigs will feature burlesque shows, games, and Sailor Jerry booze and tattoos at various bars in LA, New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and more.
