Come in and Meet the Family!
A VERY quick rundown on what made Charles Manson a household word. On the night of August 9, 1969, Manson sent Tex Watson, Susan Atkins, Linda Kasabian and Patricia Krenwinkel to a home that he was familiar with and formerly inhabited by the record producer Terry Melcher. Manson gave Watson secret orders and told the girls to follow Watson’s direction and that everyone at the home should be killed.
Well they did, and through a horrific series of stabbings they killed the actress and the pregnant wife of director Roman Polanski and four other houseguests (Jey Sebring, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski and Steven Parent). The word “pig” was scrawled on the door in blood and Healter Skelter (a misspelling of Helter Skelter) was also found written in blood within the home.
But wait there’s more!
