Sex toy retailer, Lovehoney, ran a survey of 11,400 sex toy owners across the U.S. They found that out of those happy campers, roughly three in four own a dildo, confirming that the classic dildo is reliable, as well as tried and true.
1. New England's Toys
New England was reported to have the most sex toy consumers. (This makes sense, when love interests wear nothing by Vineyard Vines.)
2. Vermont 4 Toy Play
Five of the six states in the region account for half the list of the most sex toy purchases per 10,000 people, with Vermont coming out on top.
However, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Jersey have increased their bedroom-play spending the most in the past twelve months.
3. Millennials Own Less Dildos Than Their Parents
68 percent of 18 to 30-year-olds own dildos, while 71 percent of people over 40 own them. The middle age group, those playful 30 to 40-year-olds, make up 70 percent.
4. Size Report: Six Inches
Lovehoney's survey found that 40 percent of those who own dildos own ones that are six inches in length. The seven incher trails close behind, with 37%. Eight inches polled in as 33%. Only 5% of the Americans surveyed have used a 12-inch dildo.
5. Width Report: Girthy
When asked what they preferred in a dildo, 43 percent ranked girth as number one. Followed by the 39 percent, who said length mattered most, and a 21 percent who preferred a dildo’s control functions.
6. The Double-Headed Dildo
The double-ended dildo can look intimidating, which could be why 58% of Americans haven’t tried them out. Of that 58 percent, 29 percent said they want to give it a double-headed go.
7. Dildo Time
The survey found that 75 percent of Americans use dildos at night and 66 percent only use them in the bedroom, as opposed to the bathtub or kitchen. When the survey asked just how long their sessions tend to last, 25 percent reported using their dildo for 30 minutes or more at a time.

Iowa may be known for having some of the world's most fertile soil, but is also reported to be the state with the highest dildo ownership in the country. 42.3 percent of Iowans own at least one dildo.

33 percent of men are almost twice as likely to orgasm than women with the toy.
10. Almost 50% Reported They Still Need Vibration
49 percent of women reported that they still need a vibrator to O. On the other hand, 27 percent of women were able to experience an orgasm without Marky Mark’s Good Vibrations.
