Dove Cameron Gets a Tattoo Honoring Cameron Boyce (VIDEO)

The Disney star added a new piece celebrating the life of a friend lost too soon

Disney star Dove Cameron seems to be adding tattoos on a seemingly daily basis, but this time she brought a video crew from “Vogue” to capture the process.

Cameron visited Ten Thousand Waves Tattoo Studio in Los Angeles to get tattooed by Karen Costleigh. In the video below she explains why she chose this specific design as a way to honor her friend, Cameron Boyce, who passed away at the age of 20 from epilepsy.

Prior to his death, Boyce had been working on a project called Wielding Peace. As a branch of the Cameron Boyce Foundation, Wielding Peace is dedicated to ending gun violence in this country. One way the foundation raises awareness is by featuring people posing with everyday objects—bouquets of flowers, rolling pins, roller skates—as if they were guns.

The tattoo, on Cameron’s wrist, is of a revolver with a rose shooting out of the barrel.

“It was really beautiful, and I’ve been trying to think of a tattoo to get for him since he passed, and I just felt that this one was really appropriate,” Cameron said.

“Vogue” followed Cameron around for an entire day, not only did she get a tattoo but she also went rock climbing and attempted to avoid the paparazzi. Check it out below.
