Member of top K-pop girl group SNSD — also known as Girls’ Generation — Taeyeon, recently got herself a new, “cool” tattoo from Playground Tattoo. And it isn’t her first inking, nor is it her first from Playground Tattoo.
The Guinness World Records recognized Girls' Generation in its 2018 edition as the artist that earned the most awards, 13, at the Melon Music Awards.
The eight-member group consists of Taeyeon, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Seohyun.
Kim Tae-yeon got a delicate script tattoo on her shoulder, that reads "cool" from the Hongdae, Seoul tattoo shop. Playground Tattoo is particularly well-known for their minimalistic and thin tattoo designs.
The 30-year-old is not only the leader of Girls' Generation, but a successful solo artist as well. Taeyeon has been recognized as a prominent South Korean figure, and her talent has been getting attention from several major South Korean producers. Since her professional solo debut, Taeyeon has received several awards, including five Golden Disc Awards, two Mnet Asian Music Awards, two Seoul Music Awards, two Gaon Chart Music Awards, and one Melon Music Award.
The tattoo studio shared Taeyeon's tattoo on their Instagram, tagging her in the caption.
Tattoos are not uncommon among K-pop idols, but the female idols, like Kim Tae-yeon, tend to go in the more delicate and subtle direction.
In mid-2017, she got the word "purpose" on the back of her neck, as well as the letter "I" on her right thumb (to represent her EP with the same title) and the letter "F." on the middle finger on her right hand for "Fine." The Pisces inked small fish on the middle finger on her left hand to represent her zodiac sign.
