Kat Von D rose to prominence as a resident artist on TLC's "Miami Ink" and went on to star in a spin-off series, "LA Ink." Then, in 2008, Von D established Kat Von D Beauty, which became one of the most recognizable brands in the makeup industry. From her Tattoo Liner to her Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, almost everyone has owned one of her products at some point during the last year. However, after 11 years, Von D has made the decision to sell her remaining shares and step away from her beauty brand for good.

In a post published to her personal Instagram, Von D opened up about the stress of the last year and her struggles balancing motherhood with business. "As much as I wish I could balance all of this, on top of continuing my makeup line, it has become clear to me that I just can’t do everything at the maximum capacity," shares Von D. "It's hard to admit this, since I’ve always said 'You can do everything and anything.' But I don’t think admitting one's limits is a bad thing."

Von D goes on to explain that her business partners Kendo have purchased her remaining shares and the company has decided to rebrand products to KVD Vegan Beauty. "I'd like to thank my beloved fans+followers who supported my vision to create a brand that stood for compassion, true artistry, and challenged modern ideals of beauty—most of which I never could relate to," shares Von D. "I was able to create a makeup line that made outsiders like me feel like we have a place in this 'beauty' world, and gave myself and others the tools to express ourselves in our own unique way, whether it was embraced by the majority or not"

With a beauty line out of the picture, many of you may wonder what Von D will be up to. Well, in addition to raising her son and working on her shoe line, Von D will be releasing an album in the Spring and will be embarking on an international tour.

Will Von D's music be as successful as her tattooing and makeup? Only time will tell.
