December 19th is National Emo Day—a holiday that pays homage to not only the music but the cultural movement that swept the early to mid 2000s. Emo began Rites of Spring during the 1980s and came into full effect with groups like Weezer, Jimmy Eat World, Dashboard Confessional and of course, My Chemical Romance. But emo is not only a music movement, but a notorious subculture that flourished on MySpace. Emo had an enormous impact on fashion, giving us skinny jeans, studded belts, stretched ears and lots of teased black hair.

In honor of this upcoming holiday, we're celebrating by sharing 30 tattoo models who embody the emo spirit with their hair, clothing and of course, tattoos. Take a look at the bold and badass beauties in the gallery below, then let us know your favorite emo band in the comments section.
